Last week was another historic week for the New York City Debate League when the New York State Senate passed Senate Resolution 429 to recognize the achievements of the New York City Great Debaters!  Senator Rivera sponsored the legislation and it was unanimously passed by the State Senate with thunderous applause to recognize New York’s most award winning academic program!  This follows our recognition by the White House as the nation’s top after school program in the arts and humanities!  And in a sneak peak of next week’s newsletter – recognition by the Bronx Borough President as one of the city’s top academic programs! From the city to the state to national awards – there is no debate – why we call our students the Great Debaters!

WHEREAS, Such service, which is truly the lifeblood of the community and the State, so often goes unrecognized and unheralded”
